Hello everyone. We are still experiencing issues getting students email accounts activated and getting into Google Classroom. Here is the info I received today.
1. All student email accounts must be activated. Here are the instructions from the Board.
How to Activate Your Child’s Board Provided Tools2Go Email
Basic Email Structure

Email: firstname.lastname@mytools2go.ca
Password (Birthday): MMDDYYYY
Please note:
(For example: if your child’s name is Kaitlin but it was indicated she prefers Katie, and “Katie” shows on her report cards, it would be katie.lastname@mytools2go.ca)

Click the Blue Sign In Button in the top right corner

In the Sign in WIndow:

Click Next
(reminder there is a period between first name and last name)

Step 4

Password
Initial Password is your child’s birthday: MMDDYYYY
Type Password
Click Next
|
Step 5
|
Read through and accept on Google Terms of Service
|
Step 6
|
Forced Password Reset - you will be forced to reset the password for your child’s account.
Please Note: New passwords must be a minimum of 8 characters
|
Step 7
|
Please record username and password for future use
|
2. Once the account has been activated:
- Go to Google.com
- Sign into child's mytools2go email
- Next go to https://classroom.google.com/h (or they can click the Classroom Icon in the 9 square)
- If they have not yet initiated Google Classroom, they will see an option to Continue
- They will need to click the "I am a student" icon
- It will then give them a chance to click this + sign to join a class
- They will click the + sign and select Join Class
- A window will pop open and they will add your class code (hq5in6a)
